Evelyn Wintyr (b.1987) is a South African-born artist and researcher living and working in the United Kingdom.

A trandisciplinarian in practice, Evelyn makes drawings, paintings, and films and writes and performs her own music.

Her process follows the lead of dreamlike, instinctual gestures sparked by a scene, a memory, a story. There is a concern for the edges of things; the impulses and embodiment of love, wonder and feminine creative energy, and how these forces shape identity. At times literary, even liturgical, Evelyn’s practice considers the possibilities of post-anthropocentric futures in which romanticised figures joyfully and violently collide.
